About Bombay School of Art

The Bombay School of Art (BSA) has been started by Anand K Gharat or Andy as he is known in the advertising fraternity. In an advertising career spanning over two decades, Andy has won numerous creative excellence awards for his work on a variety of clients. During his stints as Creative Director at Ogilvy and later Cheil, Andy had the opportunity to groom a number of young talent stepping into the industry and that is where he discovered a flaw in the way advertising is taught to art students.

Most Art schools focus on fine art with advertising being just one of the subjects. What this means is that when students enter the industry they have to undergo another period of learning before they become productive. At BSA, Andy is addressing this issue. BSA’s course focusses exclusively on advertising – with the course content carefully designed to ensure students are equipped with the right skills.
